Julie's Easter Egg run report

Who would have thought that we would be ‘snowed-off’ at Easter? For the first time in 17 years, we were forced to cancel our planned visit to George Hastwell School (in time for Eater) due to the blizzard conditions we all woke up to that morning!
All was not lost, though, and the eggs were (safely) delivered the following week, and our visit was re-arranged for 3rd May, when the sun shone (sort of) and the wind kept the rainclouds at bay until later!
It was certainly worth the wait. The kids had been really looking forward to seeing us again, and enjoyed every minute of their chance to try out the bikes (and even rev a few engines, here and there!) We were also spoilt rotten (again) with tea, coffee and the best scones in town. DELICIOUS!
This year, we have raised £800, which has been divided between George Hastwell School, Sandside School, FGH Children’s Ward and Furness Riding for the Disabled.
Sincere thanks must go to Kimberly-Clark, Stollers Furniture World and Barrow Interleague who gave so generously once again; they really are wonderful!
A huge thanks also to ‘the many fantastic employees of BAE, who not only donated cash, but also gave us more than 800 eggs! This meant that, as well as the 2 schools, eggs were donated to FGH A&E and Children’s Ward, St. Mary’s Hospice and Walney Youth Group,
So, thank you to everyone who donated, and to all those who collected for us, and a big thank you to everyone who came along to George Hastwell School.

The photographs show just how much it’s enjoyed (by all of us). Here’s to next year!!!

Thanks again, love, Julie x
